SAD NEWS: Wolves would now sell ‘tricky’ 27-year-old star player O’Neil left out last night for £12 million……….

Wolves winger Daniel Podence is reportedly being monitored by Celtic, with just a few weeks left now in the summer transfer window.

Wolves have already sold several players as part of a goal to balance the books.

Wanderers need to turn a significant profit this summer.

Despite offload Conor Coady, Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Ryan Giles, Dion Sanderson, Nathan Collins and Matija Sarkic, it is being suggested that the club need to sell a couple more.

Podence is someone that has been linked with a move away for a while now.

He didn’t get any minutes at all for Wolves in pre-season.

Before returning to the bench against Rennes, he had been away from the squad amid the speculation about his future.

Daniel Podence valued at £12 million by Wolves and monitored by Celtic

According to journalist Tom Collomosse, Wolves currently value Podence at £12 million.

Selling the attacker for this fee would see Wolves make a loss of around £5 million on him.

Apparently a number of clubs are tracking him.

And Collomosse says that Scottish giants Celtic have an eye on the situation.

Podence was not named in the squad last night against Manchester United by new manager Gary O’Neil.

But O’Neil has previously opened the door for fringe players to show him they can add value. That said, the financial situation is likely to dictate what happens.

Wolves fans are fairly divided over Podence at the moment.

But club legend Steve Bull recently urged Wolves to keep hold of the ‘tricky’ star.

Selling Podence for £12 million would be good business

Yes, Podence has the ability to flip a game on its head.

But there is just a feeling now that it is time for him to move on.

He’s only got a year left at the club, and Wolves need the money.

He’s got a goal in him, so it would be a bit of a blow to lose him. But Wolves have a number of other great options to play out wide.

Making a £5 million loss on the player would not be bad at all, since he’s only got a year left.
