BREAKING NEWS: Aston Villa complete fourth transfer of summer as winger signs long-term deal……….
Aston Villa transfer news as the Lions announce that they have completed the signing of Egyptian Under-17 international Omar Khedr
Aston Villa have signed winger Omar Khedr from ZED FC on what is described as a ‘long-term deal’ – which will come into effect next summer, when the player turns 18 years old.
Khedr is considered to be a coup for Villa, who have secured the player ahead of competition from elsewhere, and is a nod to their future plans as the partnership they’ve entered into with ZED bears fruit for the first time.
Villa announced that they’d secured a collaboration with ZED, an Egyptian club based in Giza, in April and Khedr becomes the first player to make the switch from one club to another. The teenager has already had a tour of Bodymoor Heath in August and will return on a permanent basis next summer.
Although it is a transfer that will come into effect in July 2024, it is the fourth signing of the summer for the Lions, who have added Pau Torres, Youri Tielemans and Moussa Diaby to Unai Emery’s first team squad – all three players made their debuts at Newcastle United on Saturday and Diaby scored his first goal.
Khedr is an Egyptian Under-17 international and will follow in the footsteps of his compatriot and the club’s ambassador for Villa, Ahmed Elmohamady.
