TRANSFER NEWS COMPLETE : Nottingham Forest in contact to sign £21.5m-rated defender eyed by Tottenham previously

Nottingham Forest are in the race to sign Galatasaray defender  ahead of Tottenham this summer. The Reds are now in discussions with the Turkish club and hope to complete a deal before the window closes.

According to reputable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Reds are moving quickly to try and wrap this deal up. Nelsson is a wanted man during this transfer window and Tottenham are keen to land the player too.

The Danish defender is available for around £21.5 million, according to reports in Denmark. He’s made 10 appearances for the national team and at just 24-years-old, he’s being tipped for a bright future in the game.

Forest target Nelsson has been with Galatasaray since 2021. He checked in from FC Copenhagen and before that, he played for Nordsjaelland.

The central defender has made 82 appearances for the Turkish outfit. Now, he could be preparing to leave the club; with Forest and Tottenham in the mix to sign him.

The Reds will hope to have someone in place in the next week or so. It does seem unlikely that anything will be done before Saturday but the club will keep working in the market.

Rumour rating: 8/10 – This could prove a very useful addition. Nelsson is an international player and he could definitely bring something to the team.

Tottenham courting the player is a problem. He might choose to wait a little while to see if they come forward with an offer and that could lead to frustration from a Forest perspective.Victor Nelsson - Player profile 23/24 | Transfermarkt

If the Forest can get a deal for Nelsson over the line, however, it would represent very good business indeed.
