Nottingham Forest are in the race to sign Galatasaray defender ahead of Tottenham this summer. The Reds are now in discussions with the Turkish club and hope to complete a deal before the window closes.
According to reputable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Reds are moving quickly to try and wrap this deal up. Nelsson is a wanted man during this transfer window and Tottenham are keen to land the player too.
The Danish defender is available for around £21.5 million, according to reports in Denmark. He’s made 10 appearances for the national team and at just 24-years-old, he’s being tipped for a bright future in the game.
Forest target Nelsson has been with Galatasaray since 2021. He checked in from FC Copenhagen and before that, he played for Nordsjaelland.
The central defender has made 82 appearances for the Turkish outfit. Now, he could be preparing to leave the club; with Forest and Tottenham in the mix to sign him.
The Reds are in need of another central defender before the campaign gets underway. Moussa Niakhate and Felipe are both out injured and that’s not good news.
Nelson has a wealth of experience, despite his tender years. Now, Forest will hope that these talks can prove positive and a deal can be struck.
Nottingham Forest want Nelsson from Galatasaray
The central defender is a player that could prove ideal for the Premier League. He’s useful on the ball and for a young man, he’s played a lot of games.
The fact that Tottenham are interested is a concern. Ange Postecoglou is also keen to sign a new centre-back and Forest could find this race a tough one.
