GOOD NEWS: Leeds United re-sign this star on short-term deal after trial period.
The Whites have completed their third signing of the summer
Leeds United have completed their third signing of the summer. The Whites have re-signed defender Sam Byram after impressing on trial period this summer.
The right-back came through the academy set-up at Thorp Arch before leaving Elland Road to join West ham United in 2016. He’s returned to sign a one-year deal until the summer of 2024 following the expiration of his contract at fellow Sky Bet Championship side Norwich City.
Byram became a first-team regular at the Whites under Neil Warnock back in 2012 and made his senior debut in the 4-0 Carabao Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town at Elland Road, at just 18-years-old. He would go on to make a total of 143 appearances in all competitions over the next three-and-a-half years before the Hammers came calling.

The defender spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest before linking up with Daniel Farke at Norwich City in 2019. The duo won the Championship title in 2020-21, although Byram missed the entire campaign with injury.
The 29-year-old was invited to train with Leeds this summer in order to maintain his fitness and featured in pre-season games against AS Monaco, Nottingham Forest and Heart of Midlothian. Byram did enough in those games to catch the eye and earn a contract with the Whites.
