Nottingham Forest-linked Tyler Adams is said to have attracted fresh interest from Chelsea this summer amid speculation over his Leeds United future.

The 24-year-old joined the Whites last summer from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, making 26 appearances in all competitions during his debut campaign at Elland Road.

But the defensive midfielder was not able to help them avoid relegation to the Championship, leading to speculation over his future at the Yorkshire club. Forest, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton have all been linked with a move for the American.

Previous reports have claimed that Adams is one of the names under consideration for a move to the City Ground.

But now transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are also interested and are “exploring costs”. The player is said to have a “£20million relegation clause” but in a potential boost for Villa he says that the Blues focus is on a deal for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

“Chelsea made contact with Tyler Adams camp to be informed on conditions of the deal, exploring costs,” he tweeted.

“He’s one of the names being considered as £20m relegation clause is available. Focus remains on Moisés Caicedo talks, separate deal and separate story.”
