Hull City player ratings as Matt Ingram and Liam Delap impress in Norwich City loss
Norwich City striker Adam Idah scored a dramatic late goal to condemn Hull City to a 2-1 defeat at Carrow Road
Hull City were beaten 2-1 at Norwich City in chaotic fashion as Adam Idah snatched a 96th-minute winner amid scenes which saw Liam Rosenior sent off by referee Keith Stroud.
Firmly against the run of play, Liam Delap bagged his first 
Tigers goal to put City in front after 17 minutes. Though the Tigers had fleeting glimpses of the Norwich goal, it was the home side who were dominant, and the biggest surprise was the equaliser took so long to arrive.
The excellent Jonathan Rowe cutting in off the flank to curl in a delicious effort two minutes into added time at the end of a pulsating first period where the Tigers were battered from pillar to post
Just as it looked to be heading for a draw, drama followed and the home side snatched a late, late winner in the most dramatic of fashions.
Here’s how Tigers reporter Barry Cooper rated the players this afternoon at Carrow Road…
Matt Ingram: Was brilliant in the first period, made some big saves especially the point-blank one to deny Sargent but could do nothing about the equaliser. Booked in added time for apparent time-wasting. Could do nothing about the winner. 8/10
Ruben Vinagre: Looked like he was lacking sharpness, had a real tough half up against Jonathan Rowe. Was better in the second period, and is still getting his fitness back after the Achilles problems of last season. 5/10
Jacob Greaves: Booked for giving Stroud some grief. Had to do a lot of defending and battled hard all afternoon. 7/10
Alfie Jones: Had a hand in Delap’s goal, had a far busier afternoon than he’d have liked. Like Greaves, came under some serious pressure but handled it well. 7/10
Lewie Coyle: Made a crucial saving block early on, and from that moment on, delivered a captain’s display. Made tackle after tackle. 6/10
Jean Michael Seri: Not his usual authoritative self in the first period, picked up a caution. Much, much better in the second period as City assumed more control.6/10
Regan Slater: Quiet by his standards but had so much ground to cover, looked a yard off it in the first half but was much more like the old Regan in the second. 6/10
Adama Traore: Largely anonymous in the first period, also picked up a booking. Didn’t look at all comfortable playing on the right, and was ineffective throughout. 5/10
Harry Vaughan: Struggled to get into the fast-paced affair with the game largely passing him by. Grew into it a little more in the second, but another big learning curve. 5/10
Ozan Tufan: Nothing really came off in the first half, did test the goalkeeper with a clever effort. Plenty of running, but one of those tough afternoons where nothing came off. 6/10
Liam Delap: City’s biggest threat, superbly taken goal. Was a constant threat all afternoon. Almost made it 2-1 with a curling effort saved by Gunn. His performance was one full of energy, aggression and topped off with a fine goal. A terrific debut. 8/10

Cyrus Christie (on for Traore 66): Came close to creating an opening at the other end, gave a free-kick away outside his own box but got away with it. 6/10
Aaron Connolly (on for Tufan 71): Good to see him back on the pitch. Took a clattering late on but got up and on he went. 6/10
Oscar Estupinan (on for Delap 79): Made a terrific tackle on the edge of his own box in the last minute which may have been crucial. 6/10
Xavier Simons (on for Vaughan 79): Showed a couple of nice touches, and a calm head in the middle of the park in the closing stages. 6/10
