Newcastle raid Liverpool as club announce the appointment of– new Director of Partnerships.

Newcastle United have announced the appointment Jonathan Kane, who leaves his role at Liverpool to become our new Director of Partnerships.

The club brought in Simon Capper from Leicester last month as our new chief financial officer (CFO) and he’s now been joined by Kane, who will ‘work closely’ with current chief commercial officer (CCO), Peter Silverstone.

Kane was the vice-president of partnership sales at Anfield and will work alongside Silverstone to ‘drive ambitious commercial growth plans’, oversee relations with the club’s ever-expanding network of commercial partners and continue our ‘global search’ for future partnerships.

Speaking to NUFC.co.uk, he said: “I am excited to be joining Newcastle United, particularly at a time of unprecedented growth for the club.

“I am looking forward to working with the talented group of people here at St. James’ Park and building an exceptional partnership business together.”

Peter Silverstone has also commented on Kane’s arriving, saying “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan to Newcastle United at this hugely exciting time for the club.

“He has an outstanding track record in the sports industry and will bring unique skills, knowledge and experience to our talented internal team.

“We are on a journey to build a sustainable, leading, Premier League and European club, and we are putting in place a skilled, diverse and dedicated group of people on and off the pitch to drive our development.”
