Through their official website, West Bromwich Albion has confirmed the permanent signing of Super Eagles forward Josh Maja.

Maja joins the English Championship side on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Bordeaux.

He has penned a three-year deal with the club and will don the number 9 jersey for the 2023-2024 season. Maja was in red-hot form last season in the French Ligue 2 where he posted 16 goals and six assists in 38 matches.

He was offered a contract extension by Bordeaux but refused to extend his stay at the French side.This is not the first time the  Englsih-born forward will be plying his trade in England’s second tier as he had previously played in the league with Sunderland and Stoke City.

Having impressed in the Ligue 2 last season, Albion had identified him as their ideal striker and are now set to enjoy his services for the next few years.
