Hull City remain a club pockmarked by rancour under Allams' ownership | Hull  City | The Guardian

Hull City have agreed a deal to sign talented striker Henry Sandat from crisis club Southend United and the teenager will link up with the Championship club’s academy this week.

Sandat, who made his senior debut for the Shrimpers last season had been in discussions over a new deal at Roots Hall, but owing to their current financial issues and subsequent transfer embargo, were unable to agree terms.

City have stepped in to sign the 18-year-old marksman who made his senior debut last season and went on to score five minutes into his first start at home to Gateshead and will pay the National League club compensation.The Tigers view the striker as a young player with significant potential and have moved quickly to bring him to East Yorkshire amid interest from other Championship clubs.

The frontman came through the Roots Hall academy having joined the club at the age of nine, and wrote on social media that he leaves the club he holds so close to his heart is tough, but right for his career.

“With a heavy heart and due to circumstances it’s time for me to leave SUFC. I believe it is the right decision for my development and to hopefully further my career,” he wroteSANDAT: "MY AIM IS TO GET INTO THE FIRST TEAM AGAIN" - News - Southend  United

“I have had an amazing nine years at the club as I’ve progressively made my way up from the Under 9’s to making my debut. I’m extremely grateful for the experience I’ve had at my hometown club.

“I’d like to thank everyone associated with the club, especially the coaching staff, players and fans for being part of my journey. I wish the club the best of luck for the upcoming season and I really hope the club gets back to where it deserves to be.
