live news: Everton transfer news has ‘Serious’ approach for £21m Juventus youngster

Everton are readying a “serious” transfer approach for Juventus youngster Samuel Iling-Junior, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.

According to the report (31 July), the youngster is one the most requested of their players and Juventus are willing to listen to offers of around €25million (£21.4m) to have any chance of selling.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking prospects after emerging from the Chelsea youth ranks before joining Juventus and establishing himself in the first team in Serie A, making 12 appearances.

The report also states that Everton are joined in the race by Aston Villa with both clubs ready to get “serious” for Iling-Junior’s services.

Signify ambition

It’s no secret that Sean Dyche will be desperate to add to his attacking and creative weaponry this summer after enduring another disappointing Premier League campaign last year, only battling against the drop by the skin of their teeth. One of the main issues for Everton’s campaign was their problems in attack, recording the second-worst goals record of any Premier League side with just 34. The Toffees could be set to lose a number of their key attacking players, with Alex Iwobi opening up on his ambitions to play in the Champions League, and Demarai Gray attracting Premier League interest.

Also, key midfield weapon Aadou Onanam could depart for as much as £55m giving them a potential war chest to explore potential transfer opportunities, and Iling-Junior represents an ambitious play but one Everton could make to appease their impatient fanbase.

Hailed him as “superb” by talent scout Jack Kulig, Iling-Junior’s form for Juventus Primavera suggests that the youngster has the potential to become a future world star in one of Europe’s biggest leagues and the Premier League could well become his perfect platform.

He’s direct, fast, tricky and has a decent final ball on him too and at such a young age there is plenty of room for development and coaching from the likes of the Toffees.Samuel-iling-junior-juventus-fc-serie-a-england-en by uniqrenders on DeviantArt

While plenty of Everton fans may be rather pessimistic about making such a move for a highly-rated talent, the Toffees could well signify their intentions under Dyche by making some sort of move for Iling-Junior’s services. A loan move may be worth a try too.
