NEWS NOW: Availability report for Oklahoma’s home contest against South Carolina has officially been released by the SEC

The second availability report for Oklahoma’s home contest against South Carolina has officially been released by the SEC on Thursday night.

 

Of the four players who were listed on Wednesday’s report with their status up in the air, wide receiver Deion Burks remained questionable, tight end Kade McIntyre and running back Sam Franklin were downgraded to doubtful and defensive lineman David Stone was upgraded to available.

 

The headliner of the group, of course, remains Burks who has not seen the field since the Sooners’ home loss to Tennessee late last month. Should he remain out, Oklahoma would be operating without each of their top five wideouts for the third consecutive week for true freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr.

OU’s collision with the Gamecocks is set for 11:45 a.m. CT on Saturday in Norman. The game broadcast will be available on the SEC Network.

 

An additional update Friday after 7 p.m., with a final pregame availability report posted no later than 90 minutes before kickoff Saturday, which means final status designations for those players should be made public 10:15 a.m. on gameday.

According to the SEC’s student-athlete availability reporting policy, “probable” means a player has a 75% or greater expectancy of playing; “questionable” means a player is uncertain or has a 50% chance of playing; “doubtful” means a player is unlikely to play or has a 25% chance of being available; while “out” means the player will not play that week due to either injury, illness, suspension, ineligibility or personal matter. Availability reports do not include information on injuries or other additional context surrounding a player’s status. Teams are permitted to provide additional information at their own discretion via press release, social media post or coach’s comment, so long as the information is consistent with the player’s status on the availability report.
