Both squads entered the game on winning streaks, but the Commanders saw theirs end after four. Both quarterbacks had solid performances during the game. Jackson completed 20-of-26 passes for 323 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The 2024 No. 2 pick added 269 yards on 24 completions and two scores of his own. After the game, the two stars linked up at midfield for a postgame handshake. In an interview with CBS Sports, Jackson was asked what he told the rookie during their handshake. He revealed his message to Daniels while giving the former LSU star his flowers.
I need that jersey,” Jackson said. “He’s definitely a great player… The sky’s the limit for him.”
Daniels has become the clear favorite to win the 2024 NFL Rookie of the Year award. In five games prior to the Ravens battle, Daniels had led the Commanders to first place in the NFC East. He was leading the league in completion percentage at 77.1 %. Daniels has also notched 1,135 passing yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions with 300 yards and four scores on the ground.
Throughout his seven-year NFL career, Jackson has shown a similar versatility that Daniels has so far this season. This has led to two NFL MVP awards for the former Louisville Cardinals star and three Pro Bowl selections.
