Earlier this week, reports from the Italian media claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are back in the race for AS Roma defender Roger Ibanez.
It was said the Giallorossi were ready to make a discount for the Brazilian, and that would attract Spurs to make new contacts for him.
Now according to outlet Roma Giallorossa, Tottenham will indeed have a meeting for the signing very soon.
That’s because Roma director Tiago Pinto should be in London ‘in the coming days’ to speak about Ibanez.
It’s said the club chief will try to negotiate with Fulham and ‘above all’ Tottenham, who had an offer worth €22m rejected by the Giallorossi around 20 days ago.
And it won’t take Spurs a lot more than that to get an agreement done. The report claims that for €22m plus €3m in bonuses, the deal ‘could be closed’.
Roma Giallorossa highlights Tottenham’s lead even against West Ham United, saying Spurs are ‘ahead’ of the Hammers as well.
It just remains to be seen if Daniel Levy will put the extra €3m on the table.

A couple of days ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel that despite suggestions to the contrary, Man Utd are not expected to restart talks with Tottenham regarding Kane.
The journalist explained that even though Erik Ten Hag views the England captain as the ideal profile for his system, the Red Devils believe that Spurs would not sell the player to them.
Romano further added that the total financial package it would take to sign Kane would be excessive, which is why United are set to move for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund instead.
