The process of reducing the roster to the 53-man limit began Monday for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they cut eight players.
They are defensive back Kiondre Thomas, defensive lineman Marquiss Spencer, linebacker Kyaha Tezino, offensive linemen Tyler Beach and Devery Hamilton, running back Daijun Edwards and wide receivers Jacob Copeland and T.J. Luther.
Thomas, Spencer, Tezino and Luther were in-camp additions to the roster. Edwards was a priority free agent who was trying to take the same route to a roster spot that undrafted free agent Jaylen Warren did in 2022. He scored a touchdown on a 1-yard run in the Steelers’ loss to Houston in the preseason opener.
The Steelers have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to reduce the roster to the 53-man limit.
