BREAKING NEWS: Phillies strikes a $40 million deal plus two loan players for a 2b star…

Atlanta allegedly has former Phil Zach Eflin on their radar now that the roles have been turned and the Braves have departed to attempt and cut the gap on the Phillies.
This role reversal is peculiar.

With the trade deadline just a few days away and five NL East games remaining between the Phillies and Braves, Phillies is the team trying to reduce the gap. MLB insider Bob Nightengale reports that they’re looking to address starting pitching, with an eye toward a former Phil. By way of Nightengale:With a cumulative 2.59 ERA, the Phillies have the greatest starting pitching rotation in MLB, but the Braves’ 3.47 ERA is also respectable. It makes natural that Atlanta is looking at a starter, and Eflin may be a good fit.
