Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, is a target for Brighton, who are hoping to hire a replacement for Roberto De Zerbi as soon as possible.

De Zerbi’s departure from Brighton was revealed on Saturday, and rumour has it that many within the team were not surprised by the news. The Italian and owner Tony Bloom had a falling out over the Brighton team’s hiring practices.

While Bloom is dedicated to the plan that has transformed Brighton from a Championship team into a consistent in the top tiers of the Premier League, De Zerbi wanted to shift the dial in the summer to more experienced players.

In hindsight, there was only going to be one victor, and it has long been known in the football community that De Zerbi was open to new chances. He was strongly linked to the Bayern Munich position and was also under consideration by Liverpool, who chose to name Arne Slot as their new manager in place of Jurgen Klopp.

Although Ipswich will undoubtedly be fighting to hang on to the 37-year-old, McKenna will undoubtedly be drawn to the position given Brighton’s standing in the industry as a stable organisation that helps managers advance to higher positions. After selling Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister for large sums of money last summer, the club is also among the few that can make significant investments during the summer transfer window if they so want.

He is a fantastic, disciplined coach and a skilled man manager, and Brighton are not the only Premier League team that thinks he can advance to a high position. McKenna was a member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backroom staff at Manchester United, where he has also been linked.
