In order to make place on the roster, the Eagles waived tight end Noah Togiai and announced the acquisition of undrafted CB Shon Stephens as part of their ongoing offseason program.

Shon Stephens is the newest small school player the Eagles acquired to the secondary, and he won a spot on the roster following his rookie minicamp audition. Over the course of the previous two seasons—eight at Ferris State in 2023 and eight at West Liberty in 2022—the cornerback topped the country with 16 interceptions. Last season, he was also named the Defensive Back of the Year by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Given the numerous free agency signings and trades, in addition to their numerous draft selections, Howie Roseman acknowledged that their UDFA class this year would be significantly smaller. They only signed seven undrafted free agents at first, as Roseman clarified, citing other roster moves as their top priority in the offseason and making reference to the (lack of) overall depth in this year’s draft class.

The Eagles are no strangers to utilizing Noah Togiai to clear space on the roster; since the 2021 campaign, he has been signed, promoted to the practice squad, raised, and discharged multiple times. Although he is currently a free agent, the team almost definitely plans to sign him again if they need more depth at tight end.
