Before the first game of the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will almost definitely add a starting boundary receiver. It’s likely that a new player will be added, whether through a trade or free agency.

Even though Courtland Sutton and Treylon Burks seem like the most sensible choices, there is another name that has allegedly been mentioned.

The Steelers have reportedly spoken with former Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas, who is presently a free agent, according to Zachary Smith of Steelers Now.

In 2018 and 2019, Thomas saw an incredible two-year run in which he caught 125 and 149 passes, respectively, and was named an All-Pro twice. He set a record for the most receptions in a season in the NFL with his 149 catches in 2019.

Since then, injuries have kept Thomas from doing much. He has only participated in 20 games since 2020. He caught 39 receptions in 10 games the previous season.
