Ipswich Town will now focus on bolstering the first-team roster in an attempt to survive in the top division, following their first-ever promotion to the Premier League in 22 years.

The Tractors Boys achieved back-to-back promotions to the Premier League, making them the only team to do so since Nigel Adkins’ Southampton more than ten years ago. Kieran McKenna’s team accomplished this feat admirably as well, concluding as the Championship’s top goal scorers, just one point behind eventual champions Leicester City.

This past week, football financial specialist Kieran Maguire crunched the statistics on the club’s accomplishment and found that, after being demoted from the top tier of English football, Ipswich Town got £37 million in the 2001–02 season. But regardless of whether they stay in the league or not, the East Anglian team will “probably” collect £150 million in the 2024–2025 campaign due to the financial advancements of the modern game.

Ipswich now have a bit more wiggle room in the transfer market to bring in players who are talented enough to play in the Premier League thanks to their sudden fortune, which seemed unthinkable just a year ago.

Armando Broja, a center forward for Chelsea, is reportedly one name on the team’s roster. The Albanian international could end up in Ipswich, according to Simon Phillips on his exclusive Substack account, since Chelsea is open to letting him go permanently this summer.

After failing to make much of an impression at Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old was sent on loan to Fulham, where he has made just seven appearances without scoring a goal. He will most likely depart the Blues in the upcoming months.

The frontman still has four years left on his contract, so it was rumored back in January that Chelsea had put a £50 million price tag on him. However, according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is £24 million, which may be a more accurate representation of his skill.

McKenna needs a striker since Kieffer Moore, who was on loan at Ipswich Town for a brief but fantastic period, has returned to Bournemouth. Thus far, his hiring has been impeccable.
