Since joining Red Bull in 2006, Newey’s concepts have influenced every championship-winning vehicle the team has produced. However, his job has changed recently and is now more centred on large-scale initiatives.

Waché, the technical director, has been in charge of the daily development of Red Bull’s automobiles. However, he is among a number of team members who have been irritated with constantly being in Newey’s shadow.

The Frenchman and a move to Ferrari were recently connected. But now that Newey is leaving, perhaps to go with the Italians, he has the chance to take the reins and guide Red Bull into the future.

According to RacingNews365 Before word of Newey’s impending departure became apparent earlier this year, Waché inked a new contract with the team. However, Christian Horner, the team’s principal, said he has long had a suspicion that the 65-year-old will be leaving shortly.

In his new contract, Waché commits to the squad till 2028. He will thus be the one to guide Red Bull into new rules, and his resignation serves as an obvious signal to potential suitors that he is content to stay in his current position.

It will be imperative for Horner to hang onto people like Waché, as his job is to make sure that Newey’s exit does not lead to a high-level staff exodus. Jonathan Wheatley, the sporting director, is among those who are thinking about staying with the squad.
