Alec Pierce, a trade candidate for the Indianapolis Colts

Pierce is someone you want to be like. In just two seasons, 73 receptions for 1,107 yards, or 15.3 yards per catch, have already been recorded by him. Pierce seems like a perfect fit if power rushing and downfield, play-action passing are key components of Arthur Smith’s strategy. As a true outside receiver, he generates explosive plays downfield and is a reliable run blocker—something the Steelers urgently need.

The former second-round pick has performed well enough to warrant his draft position thus far, although he currently plays behind Josh Downs and Michael Pittman as a wide receiver. Before he is scheduled to receive a larger salary, Omar Khan might be able to get him out of Indianapolis.

Chiefs Release Former Steelers WR | Noah Strackbein, All Steelers

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Anthony Miller is back on the open market after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced.

Miller spent the 2021 season with the Steelers on their practice squad and re-signed in 2022 looking at a shot to make the 53-man roster. The 28-year-old and former second-round pick for the Chicago Bears was in the midst of a strong performance at training camp when he suffered a lingering hamstring injury.

Draft picks Steelers got right

WR Roman Wilson

This one was easy to take to the bank, and it would have been my decision as well. After 10 receivers were selected by the 37th overall pick early in the second round, Pittsburgh’s chances of landing a quality receiver in the draft looked grim… that is until Roman Wilson fell into their lap.
