Draymond Green continues to voice his opinions about the NBA Playoffs despite the Golden State Warriors’ season being ended following their defeat in the NBA Play-In Tournament. He also spoke up about why he thinks the Denver Nuggets could face difficulties in their next second-round series with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Draymond Green stated on his podcast, “The Nuggets won the series, but I think they’re in trouble, and the reason I think they’re in trouble, and I said this before, is I just don’t think their bench is good enough.” It seemed like they weren’t getting enough from their bench when we witnessed it happen again the other night. As you proceed, I believe the bench may make a difference in this Minnesota-Denver series. You have Monte Morris, a fantastic backup point guard that they don’t use much but can utilize, Kyle Anderson coming off the bench, and Naz Reid, who can play significant minutes off the bench. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, a talented basketball player.

“Although I’ve always told you guys you win championships six through ten, not one through five, I just think the depth of the Timberwolves is going to give Denver problems and yes, the match-up between Joker and Rudy Gobert trying to guard him is huge.”

The Timberwolves placed third in the Western Conference, one game behind the Nuggets, who were ranked first. It will be interesting to see if this series’ homecourt advantage is applied. Based on how they performed during the regular season, the two are evenly matched. The reigning champion Nuggets’ experience is undoubtedly a factor, but the Timberwolves have advanced significantly this season with to the contributions of Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Anthony Edwards, who have cemented their status as superstars.

Rudy Gobert versus Nikola Jokic showdown
It goes without saying that Rudy Gobert vs. Nikola Jokic will be the most watched matchup, especially with Gobert defending Jokic. When the starting units are in the game, that is perhaps the most crucial matchup on that end of the court. Gobert’s ability to defend himself would be extremely beneficial to the Timberwolves.

That matchup won’t be as important for the Timberwolves offensively because they have other players who can score, like Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.

This postseason’s most anticipated and intriguing series is probably going to be this one. While the Timberwolves are attempting to assert that they have arrived and are a title contender, the Nuggets are attempting to demonstrate that their experience will prevail.
