Tom Fellows could be involved for West Brom in their Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers after an injury sustained by Adam Reach, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Joseph Chapman wrote online for the publication that winger Reach was injured five minutes into the second half of Saturday’s 2-2 pre-season draw with Burton Albion.
He added that while there is no prognosis for the injury, Reach could be missing for a “matter of weeks” with what looked like a calf or hamstring injury.
With both Darly Dike and Grady Diangana watching from the stands, Fellows – who spent last season on loan at Crawley Town – may be required to at least fill a spot in the squad for the Baggies’ opening league fixture against Blackburn on August 5.

With financial issues off the pitch leaving Carlos Corberan’s hands largely tied in the transfer market this summer, the Spaniard could have done without seeing Reach signalling to come off against Burton.
But one person’s misfortune can be an opportunity for someone else and 19-year-old Fellows, who has been with the Baggies since U-10 level, may be sniffing a chance to shine.
Fellows spent time on loan at Crawley last season and Corberan may have been hoping to send him out to League One this campaign, one step above the level he was at last term.
It is needs must right now, though, and Fellows could now be involved in the squad against Blackburn. Fans will like the directness he brings to proceedings, and at a time where money is tight, Corberan is likely to have to give some of the younger players in the squad an opportunity. This might be the perfect chance for Fellows.
