Following the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chiefs were very active, signing a number of undrafted free agents and adding some intriguing prospects in the process.

James Madison wide receiver Reggie Brown, who was named to the First Team All-Sun Belt and amassed over 1,000 yards in 2023, is one guy who intends to contend for a spot on the 53-man roster. It’s no secret that Kansas City needed improvements all around, as evidenced by the fact that the lone player they selected in the first round was Texas speedster Xavier Worthy.

Given the lack of clarity at the position, Brown might try to earn a spot on the roster or, at the at least, be added to the practice squad.

Reggie Brown is headed to Kansas City, signing with the Chiefs following the NFL Draft. Reggie was an Honorable Mention All-American and First Team All-Sun Belt after going over 1,000 receiving yards in 2023.

In 13 games this year, Brown had 53 catches for 1,054 yards (19.9 YPC) and nine TDs. He had 202 receiving yards against Connecticut with four games over 100 yards and nine contests over 50 yards during his strong season.

The 6’1″, 195 LB receiver competes well at the catch point with the speed to attack downfield. With few established threats at the position in Kansas City, Brown should have every opportunity to leave his mark.

Though Rice will probably serve a suspension to begin the season, Worthy, Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore, and Kadarius Toney seem like serious challengers to make the team. Given that Moore and Toney haven’t really distinguished themselves and have both had to deal with injuries, it makes sense to give Reggie Brown a closer look.

I’m eager to see what kind of influence the former James Madison standout can have on the Chiefs.
