After winning the Super Bowl for the second time in a row a few months ago, Andy Reid and company are already getting the team ready for a potential three-peat.
The Chiefs are predicted to trade picks 32, 95, and 159 to the Dallas Cowboys for pick 24, where they’ll bring in a brand-new toy for Patrick Mahomes in the form of Texas wideout Adonai Mitchell. This is according to Jordan Reid of ESPN’s most recent seven-round mock draft.
“Mitchell can play both inside and outside for the Chiefs, making him an ideal match in their scheme. Given that 82% of his receptions during the previous season resulted in a first down or a touchdown, he is among the class’ most productive receivers. Additionally, his combined performance amazed me. He would provide Mahomes with a dynamic downfield option. Plus, Mitchell’s steady hands would be appreciated after the Chiefs experienced 38 drops in 2023. Throughout his 35-game college career, he only had five drops.
Pick 64 in Round 2: Dominick Puni, OL, Kansas
Numerous scouts think Puni is capable of playing all five positions up front. However, if the Chiefs choose him on Day 2, I believe they may decide to try him at tackle first before sliding him inside. Throughout his two seasons as a starter, he didn’t allow a sack.
The Kansas City Chiefs and any other well-run organisation understand that the third round of the NFL Draft may be just as significant as the first. The reigning champs are predicted by ESPN to select Arizona tight end Tanner McLachlan (131), Miami centre Matt Lee (159), South Dakota cornerback Myles Harden (173), and Utah safety Sione Vaki (221) in rounds four through seven.
