Aston Villa have become the latest English club to throw their hat in the ring to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with a host of Premier League sides, including Manchester United, and it now seems Aston Villa are keen to get involved in the race to sign Sofyan Amrabat

According to a report from the Italian outlet Viola News, Villa alongside Tottenham and Manchester United are interested in the midfielder.

The report states that Villa have ‘tested the waters’ for the midfielder’s signature but it remains to be seen whether Emery’s side could be able to tempt the midfielder to Villa Park.

West Ham United reportedly ended their interest in the Moroccan due to the midfielder’s lack of willingness to make the move to East London, according to the Evening Standard.

The midfielder has just a year left on his contract, but Fiorentina have an option to extend the midfielder’s contract for a further year. According to the same report from Italy, Fiorentina value the midfielder at €30 million (£26 million).

Aston Villa have yet to make an offer for Sofyan Amrabat

Amrabat was previously linked to Barcelona in January, according to SPORT, but it seems the Premier League will be the midfielder’s next destination.

The midfielder was superb in the Europa Conference League final against West Ham and was unfortunate to not be on the winning sid

The midfielder was also superb in the World Cup in Qatar which has seemingly alerted a lot of high profile sides.

The Moroccan would be a superb addition to Emery’s Villa.

He could fit in alongside John McGinn and be the defensive steel that Villa will need going into Europe.

The report from Italy, however, states that no offers have been forthcoming so far from any of the Premier League sides that are reportedly interested in the midfielder’s services.

Aside from the Red Devils, Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the mix to land his services.

Fiorentina currently value him at €30 million, but they have yet to receive any transfer offer.

United may need to hurry up in Amrabat pursuit

United are currently looking to part ways with Fred. He is the subject of interest from Galatasaray, but a transfer fee has yet to be finalised.

The Turkish champions are willing to pay €8m for the Brazil international, but the Red Devils insist on €12m to consider his departure.

Aside from Fred, Donny van de Beek is another candidate that could head for the exit door soon.

He scored with a wonderful volley against Lyon last week, but was an unused substitute in the recent 2-0 friendly win over Arsenal in New Jersey.

In our view, United’s approach for Amrabat could depend on the duo leaving the club. The hierarchy may need to hurry up with the process.

Villa have been very ambitious in the transfer market after finishing seventh in the Premier League under manager Unai Emery against the odds.

They have signed quality players such as Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby, and we won’t be surprised if they are weighing up a move for Amrabat.

Amrabat has a dream of playing in La Liga, but he should be tempted to switch to the Premier League with the lack of lucrative bids from Spain.

The Utrecht graduate would be a fine addition to the Red Devils squad. He would provide strong competition to Casemiro for the number six role.Extraordinary' Sofyan Amrabat is Morocco's Gennaro Gattuso, could have joined Tottenham, wanted by Liverpool and can now knock defending champions France out of the World Cup

He is not a tough tackler like Casemiro, but possesses strong distribution and concentration. He has a terrific work rate over the course of 90 minutes.

Amrabat was handed his senior debut at Utrecht by manager Erik ten Hag, and could easily be convinced to join United if they can agree on a transfer fee.
