After the spring game last weekend, several Miami Hurricanes players entered the transfer portal, and they are wearing it today. Numerous players, including backup quarterback Jacurri Brown, have left Miami due to the gateway. TreVonte’ Citizen, a freshman running back and former top prospect, also entered the gate shortly after Brown announced his plans, departing Coral Gables after just two seasons.
Three more players have already entered Miami’s portal since the spring window has officially opened. Nyjalik Kelly, an edge rusher, leads the group with four sacks and 5.5 TFLs in two seasons. Logan Sagapolu, an offensive lineman, is also sidelined at Miami.
At Louisiana’s Lake Charles Prep High School, Citizen excelled and was named to the All-American Bowl in 2022. He is ranked as the second-best running back in the class of 2022 by Rivals. In his senior year at Lake Charles Prep, he ran for 743 yards and 11 touchdowns; the next year, he scored 8 touchdowns on 615 yards of rushes. The six-foot-one, 220-pound rusher chose Miami over a number of other schools, including Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, and USC.
