In addition to six counts of collision involving harm, Rice is also accused of one crime of aggravated assault and one case of collision involving serious injury.
Rashee Rice, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, turned himself in to the police on Thursday in response to an arrest warrant related to a car accident that left injuries last month.
After being booked into a jail in Glenn Heights, Texas, a city in the southern portion of the Dallas metroplex, Rice’s attorney stated his client was freed on bond. In relation to a crash in Dallas on March 30 that resulted in injuries to six vehicles, police filed an arrest warrant for Rice on Wednesday.
Attorney Royce West released a statement saying, “I want to re-emphasize Mr. Rice’s continued cooperation with law enforcement.” “Mr. Rice accepts responsibility for his conduct and has great sympathy for the people this accident has hurt. All legal documents must now be reviewed by our legal team.”
In addition to six counts of collision involving harm, Rice is also accused of one crime of aggravated assault and one case of collision involving serious injury.
At a press conference last week, West said that Rice had acknowledged operating the Lamborghini SUV that was involved in the collision. When travelling at high speeds, the Lamborghini and a Chevrolet Corvette lost control, resulting in a chain reaction crash. Four patients with minor injuries were taken to nearby hospitals.
The driver of the Corvette, 21-year-old Theodore Knox, also had an arrest warrant issued for him on Wednesday. Rice is charged with the same offences as Knox. According to the authorities, no charges are anticipated against any other crash participants.
In a social media message this week, Rice said, “I accept full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities.” “I sincerely apologise to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”
Following the issuance of the arrest warrant on Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs remained silent.
