Lewis Hall, who is expected to seal his £28 million move from Chelsea, has expressed his excitement for a bright future as a Newcastle United player.

Eddie Howe’s team had to finish 14th or higher and the 19 year-old had to be named in 30 or more teams in order for Hall to go from the Blues to Newcastle. Both United and Hall have now met those requirements. And Hall is already thinking ahead to the next phase of his career after bouncing back from a muscle injury to enter as a substitute in the 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

“I am here now as a Newcastle player and I really enjoy it,” Hall stated to Chronicle Live. With so many young, skilled players, the club’s future is bright. It’s heading in the correct way.”

Following his deployment in a variety of situations down the left-hand side, Hall was also asked about his ideal position. “I played a lot of my early senior appearances at left-back or wing-back,” the England youth international remembered. However, I prefer to be adaptable and can play several roles when needed.

“I used to be a midfielder when I was younger but wherever the gaffer wants me to play I will play.”

When questioned about his feelings over Hall’s recent completion of the move to St. James’ Park, Howe responded, “In my mind, I’m getting ready for Lewis to be at Newcastle for a long time.

He was never signed with a short-term contract; rather, a long-term perspective was adopted. He’s a committed player. We have been putting a lot of effort into helping him improve his game since we have always believed in him and his abilities.

“What a gifted boy he is. Like all the guys, he still needs to work on a few things. I have faith in him. I think he’ll be at Newcastle for a very long time.”
