Antonio Pierce, who served as Arizona State’s recruiting coordinator from 2018 to 2021, still maintains close relationships with a number of prospects as he prepares to conduct his first NFL Draft as a head coach. The quarterback position is open for the Las Vegas Raiders, and Pierce just so happens to be friends with one of the best quarterback prospects.

Jayden Daniels, a 2023 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from LSU, played quarterback with Pierce at Arizona State from 2019 to 2021, so the two are well acquainted. The Raiders would not be able to add Daniels unless they traded up, as he is predicted to be selected among the top five picks in the draft Recently, Pierce was questioned about Daniels’

Pierce told the media on March 25 that “his ability to run is one thing that separates him from the rest.” “He is able to run very well. He is capable of putting up those kinds of numbers and running in the SEC. That translates really well, in my opinion.

Although Daniels’ running ability was the main focus of Pierce’s attention, he was also a prolific passer who threw 40 touchdown passes in the previous season.

Antonio Pierce Reveals Original Recruiting Pitch to Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels was one of the first big gets that Antonio Pierce had at Arizona State. He wasn’t able to have sustained success for the Sun Devils but finally reached his potential with LSU. Arizona State hasn’t been one of the best football programs so Pierce revealed how he was able to get Daniels to commit.

“I thought he would be a Heisman winner. I did,” Pierce said. “That was my recruiting pitch to him. I just thought it would be where I was at previously [at Arizona State].”

Pierce was eventually right about Daniels’ potential and he’s now set to make a lot of money in the NFL.

Antonio Pierce Says ‘Everything’s on the Table’

Although it’s unlikely now, the Raiders may be able to select one of the top quarterback prospects in the class. Antonio Pierce is open to exploring all of his options because he understands the significance of finding a franchise quarterback.

Pierce stated, “I believe everything is on the table.” “I support anything that makes the Raiders better. When I say that I’m a go-getter, I mean that I want to do whatever it takes to win and to get the best player to make our team the best, and I want to see us do that as well.

Pierce is solely concerned with winning, and he will stop at nothing to achieve it.

Pierce declared, “I’m going to be aggressive always.” “Winning is what I want.” That’s just who I am.

Even though there are a few excellent quarterback prospects, Jayden Daniels is the clear choice for Las Vegas. If Pierce could have any one of them in the end, it sounds like he would be content.

Pierce stated, “I don’t think you can go wrong with this year’s draft.”

Although it sounds like they will consider their options, the Raiders may put off solving the quarterback problem until later because they have other needs.
