Another star will be relocating Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards signed guard-forward Justin Champagnie to a two-way contract and guard R.J. Hampton to a 10-day contract on Sunday.

Champagnie, 22, had signed a 10-day contract with the Wizards on Feb. 22. He is averaging 3.7 points, 0.3 assists and 5.3 minutes in three games as a reserve.

He has played 44 games for the Toronto Raptors (2022), Boston Celtics (2023), Miami Heat (2023) and Wizards and averages 2.3 points and 0.4 assists.

Hampton, 23, played eight games earlier this season for the Heat, starting two, and averaged 1.3 points, 0.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 9.5 minutes. Miami released him on Feb. 9. He has been playing most recently with the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G League.

The Milwaukee Bucks had selected Hampton 24th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Little Elm (Texas) High School and an ensuing professional career with the New Zealand Breakers of the National Basketball League before he applied for the NBA Draft.

Hampton has appeared in 170 games for the Denver Nuggets (2020-21), Orlando Magic (2020-23), Detroit Pistons (2023) and Heat (2023-24). He has averaged 6.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 18.3 minutes per game.
