Jos Verstappen made a shocking request for Christian Horner to be fired from Red Bull, to which Red Bull responded. A few hours after witnessing his son Max easily win in Bahrain, the Dutchman unexpectedly attacked the Englishman who was under fire with foul language.

“There is tension here while he remains in position,” he told the Daily Mail. “The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can’t go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems.”

Red Bull have responded to Jos Verstappen after he sensationally called for Christian Horner to be removed from Red Bull. Just hours after watching son Max romp to victory in Bahrain, the Dutchman launched a remarkable verbal attack on the under-fire Englishman.

“There is tension here while he remains in position,” he told the Daily Mail. “The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can’t go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems.

The comments followed reports that Verstappen Snr had been involved in a furious row with Horner at the F1 paddock on Friday night. After allegedly storming out of the meeting, Verstappen later returned and reluctantly agreed to shake hands.

And the team themselves have now responded, claiming the outburst has not caused disruption. An RBR spokesperson said: “There are no issues here. The team are united and we are focused on racing.”
