Just Now: David de Gea consented to sign a contract with Nottingham Forest on one requirement.

In the January transfer window, David de Gea, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, reportedly declined a move to Nottingham Forest.

Since Man United chose to replace the 33-year-old De Gea with Andre Onana after declining to extend an offer to the Spain international, De Gea has been without a club. Since then, moves to Inter Milan, Newcastle United, and Al-Shabab have been suggested, but he is still a free agent.

On deadline day, Forest decided against remaining with Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos as their goalkeeping alternatives, instead signing Matz Sels from Strasbourg on a permanent basis. Prior to Sels’ arrival, the team was reportedly linked to a number of goalkeepers, and it is said that de Gea turned down a short-term contract at the City Ground.

It was argued that helping Forest in their battle against relegation would serve as a reminder of what he could offer a ‘high-profile’ club next season. However, the report claims that the former Man United number one was ‘not moved’ by Forest’s proposal.
