This is a tough blow for Buffalo for this playoff matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Davis enjoyed another strong season catching passes from Josh Allen, hauling inGabe Davis  45 balls for 746 yards and seven touchdowns, though he was quiet against Kansas City in the 20-17 win earlier in the season. The 24-year-old failed to catch a single pass on two targets.

However, who can forget Davis’ playoff performance against the Chiefs two seasons ago? The Bills wide receiver caught eight passes for 201 yards and a whopping four touchdowns in a heartbreaking 42-36 overtime loss.

Due to a knee injury sustained in Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins, Davis was unable to play in the Wild Card victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Considering that the wide receiver for the Bills hasn’t practiced all week, it’s hardly shocking that he’s already out.

Stefon Diggs was also restricted on Friday due to a foot issue, and he missed practice on Thursday in addition to Gabe Davis. Even though Diggs is almost guaranteed to play, his status will need to be watched, particularly because Davis is already not in the starting lineup. With Davis and Diggs down, Khalil Shakir, Trent Sherfield, and Deonte Hardy are expected to get more playing time.

The Bills’ defense is also beset with a number of injuries. Baylon Spector, Christian Benford, and Taylor Rapp are out, while several more players are hurt. Rasul Douglas, Taron Johnson, Terrel Bernard, and Tyrel Dodson are on that list. Tre’Davious White and Matt Milano are out for the season, while Jordan Phillips is on injured reserve.
