When it comes to his head coaching position, Maxx Crosby is making a statement as the Las Vegas Raiders reach a crossroads. Either Jim Harbaugh of Michigan, or another well-known coach, could be hired by Las Vegas, or they
could continue with player-friendly interim coach Antonio Pierce, who almost instantly improved the team’s performance on the field.
One of the most respected voices in the Raiders locker room and a three-time Pro Bowl pick, Crosby has made it clear who he wants. He expressed his support for Pierce on X, the former Twitter, on Friday by using the hashtag “Hire AP.”
However, Crosby appears to have gone one better. According to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, if Pierce is not reinstated as the Raiders’ coach, Crosby will think about submitting a trade request. The story states that Las Vegas is interested in Harbaugh, but Crosby and other Raiders locker room members support Pierce, the interim coach who went 5-4 and won three of the season’s final four games.
This week, Pierce will have a coaching interview with the Tennessee Titans. With a deal that runs through 2026, Crosby has put the Raiders squarely in the driver’s seat.
