IN RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSY — A.J. Brown, the standout receiver for the Eagles, hurt his knee during the first quarter of the Giants game at MetLife Stadium.

Early in the second half, he was declared out.

After Hurts hit him with a pass, 26-year-old Brown fumbled at the conclusion of a nine-yard gain due to an injury. Brown remained on the ground for a few minutes before carefully making his way off the field by himself.

Brown spent a short time in the blue medical tent before making his own way into the locker room.

Reminder: The Eagles must win and the Cowboys must lose to the Commanders in order to win the division and secure the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

The Pro Bowl receiver for the Eagles is having a fantastic 2023 year. Brown had 105 receptions for 1,447 yards and 7 touchdowns as of Sunday.

Brown’s nine-yard reception puts him 41 yards away from both the franchise record and his personal career high in yards. Brown’s 1,496 during the previous season set the record.

Brown broke his media hush over the week and spoke with reporters for almost thirteen minutes. He backed the coaching staff and voiced his anger. Wednesday morning, Brown expressed regret to his teammates for forcing them to speak for him. According to a number of his colleagues, Brown’s speech this week inspired the group.

The Eagles would not have planned for the first half of Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium to unfold like it has.

After making contact with Giants defender Bobby Okereke’s hand during a throw play in the second quarter, quarterback Jalen Hurts hurt his right middle finger. Wide receiver A.J. Brown also departed the game in the first quarter due to a knee injury. After being examined in the sideline medical tent, the injured player continued playing while wearing additional protection on his finger.
