Since Antonio Pierce took over as interim head coach, the Las Vegas Raiders have played significantly better. That point isn’t even being contested at this time.

Interim coach Antonio Pierce bringing a go-for-it attitude to the Raiders

The Raiders annihilated the Chargers two weeks ago and stunned the Chiefs on Christmas Day. Even in losses, Las Vegas has been more competitive and aggressive than it was under Josh McDaniels, who was sacked along with general manager David Ziegler after a 3-5 start to the season.”My resume is lying on the grass.” What do you desire? I’ve seen elaborate presentations before, so I can set one up. “I can put up stats and my resume, but the best thing that happened to me was an opportunity,” Pierce told reporters Tuesday, according to Tyler Dragon of USA Today. “I said maybe last week that the worst day I’d have as a head coach would be my first day.” And every day is my job, and I take great delight in improving myself every day. It’s no different from when I was a player trying to improve. And toward the end, you realize,Whatever your profession was and whatever my coaching career was, you sat there and said, ‘Look, this is what he was.’ And ideally, (Raiders owner) Mark Davis sees progress and growth inside our organization. He sees the Raiders’ style of play that he desires. He sees a fan base that supports us. He sees a structure that enjoys going to work and being here. And those who cover the team have a good time doing so. And, in the end, we’ve got to win. And for now, my team’s record is 4-3.”

After then-interim coach Rich Bisaccia guided the Raiders to the playoffs in the aftermath of the Jon Gruden incident two years ago, there were cries for Davis to hire him full-time.

This time, the calls to keep Pierce are just as loud. Pierce has two games left against Indianapolis and Denver to add to his resume and persuade Davis that he’s the man to keep in 2024.
