Nottingham Forest will sell one of their unwanted players to a Brazilian club in the January transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
Nuno Espirito Santo took over as head coach at the City Ground, and everything has changed. Steve Cooper was removed. The playing group he inherited may then see some adjustments.
Gustavo Scarpa is one player that will not be a part of Nottingham Forest’s new era. Romano claims that the team has reached an agreement to let go of the offensive midfield player as soon as possible.
Scarpa is currently on loan at Olympiacos, although Forest is prepared to move him somewhere. Specifically, he will be returning to his home country of Brazil to play for Atletico Mineiro.
Romano has verified that Forest has accepted a proposal from Atletico Mineiro worth more than €5 million.
Journalist Bruno Andrade of UOL Esporte has revealed that the transfer will cost €5.5 million, or roughly £4.77 million in English currency.
All that’s left to do for the trade to proceed is for the two teams to exchange documentation. In fact, Scarpa and his new club have already worked out personal arrangements.
As a result, he will be departing Forest after only ten games following his arrival from Palmeiras in January 2023. He never assisted on or scored a goal for the Premier League team.
Now, after previous spells with Fluminense and Palmeiras, a return to Brazil is on the cards for Scarpa.
News of his upcoming move to Atletico Mineiro was already shared by Versus Esporte reporter Guilherme Alves, who has confirmed that Scarpa will sign a four-year contract in Belo Horizonte.
