Another QB will be relocating Florida

In the first few weeks of the offseason, players have begun leaving the Florida Gators in large quantities. Billy Napier, the head coach, has come under scrutiny for his inability to retain quality within the team. The transfer portal does, however, give and take, and this time the Gators are getting a fantastic talent in return. Trikweze Bridges, a former Oregon defender, has committed to Florida for 2024.

Bridges’ decision to transfer was probably influenced by his perception of his role diminishing with the Ducks. He totaled 91 tackles, 8 pass deflections, 4 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles in his four years at Oregon. The third player in Florida’s incoming transfer class is Bridges. They must restock on talent because they lost an astounding sixteen players to the gateway.

In 2024, Florida is going to face many challenges. There are many games that can be won in the first half of the season, and the offense will benefit from having quarterback Graham Mertz back. On the other hand, the season’s final five games following their bye week are among the hardest you’ll find. They play Florida State, Georgia, Texas, LSU, and Ole Miss in back-to-back weeks. Although it is an extremely difficult draw, Florida must defeat the best opponents if they are to reclaim the top spot in the SEC. The club has the first half of the season to iron out wrinkles before that run, which is the one bright spot.
