West Ham ‘in talk with club about signing a versatile forward – Left out of pre-season tour

Having arrived at AC Milan for free last summer, Divock Origi managed two goals and an assist from 36 games last season. Despite his debut season in Italy not going well, the forward has managed to draw attention from West Ham United and other clubs.

That’s according to today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the 28-year-old is not included in Stefano Pioli’s plans and was left out of the Serie A side’s squad for the pre-season tour to the US.

Milan are trying to find a new club for the player this summer and when discussing his suitors, West Ham and Galatasaray are mentioned.

It’s claimed the two teams are ‘taking’ to the Italian club about the possibility of signing Origi, who can be used as a No.9 or across the attacking line.

Gazzetta say the Belgium international earns €4m net per year, and this could discourage both the Hammers and the Turkish club.Divock Origi branded 'worst signing of season' as ex-Liverpool man struggles at AC Milan - Mirror Online

Furthermore, it’s made clear that Origi doesn’t have the intention of leaving Milan this summer, meaning that’s another obstacle for West Ham to overcome if they do manage to sit down with the forward face to face to try and convince him.

David Moyes and David Sullivan have both publicly stated their intention to sign two midfielders to replace the hybrid, generational talent that is Rice.

So it is no surprise that West Ham are being linked with all and sundry in the summer transfer window.

Many have suggested one of the answers may be right under Moyes’ nose, though.
