The Michigan Wolverines made the announcement on Twitter on Friday morning that they had made an offer through the transfer portal to former Wake Forest wide receiver Jahmal Banks.
Banks, a former three-star talent out of St. Frances Academy in the 2020 class, has spent the previous four seasons as a member of the Demon Deacons. In his first two years of college, he only had six receptions. However, as a junior in 2022, he made tremendous progress, accounting for 42 receptions for 636 yards and nine touchdowns. He received the title of ACC All-Honorable Mention for his efforts.
Banks saw an increase in receptions to 59 and receiving yards to 653 in the previous season, but he only scored four touchdowns. The season began with him scoring three touchdowns in the first three weeks; he did not score again until Week 13 against Syracuse. But he did manage to make at least five catches in seven of those
In addition, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Purdue, and Notre Dame, where he will make his official visit this weekend, are all interested in recruiting Banks. The 247Sports portal rankings have him ranked No. 61 overall and No. 15 at wide receiver.
