The injury that didn’t involve any players in Sunday’s game between the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints appears to be the most severe.
Alvin Kamara, the running back for the Saints, collided with a sideline official who was holding the first-down marker with little over six minutes remaining in the second quarter. This caused a prolonged halt so that trainers could tend to Kamara.
Thankfully, he seems to be doing fine.
According to a team representative, Nick Piazza, the chain gang member hurt during today’s Lions-Saints game, has a dislocated knee and is rehabilitating at University Hospital. A source informed Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune that surgery is not anticipated to be required for the injury.
“He is in stable condition and we will provide an update (Monday) after he completes further testing,” said a spokesman.
Before leaving the field, Piazza was carted off and his leg was placed in an air cast.
Oh my god. During the #Saints #Lions game, the sideline official sustains a severe knee injury.
