After their best season in years, Texas football is back in the Big 12 Championship game. It’s their first appearance in a game since 2018. The Longhorns have had a nearly flawless season, with the exception of a setback to an Oklahoma school. Although that team did not progress to the Big 12 Championship, another Sooner State powerhouse did.

Furthermore, Texas features an exceptional running back in Jonathon Brooks. It was no simple chore to fill Bijan Robinson’s shoes, but Brooks has done so magnificently with 1,425 yards from scrimmage.

Texas boasts the second-most Big 12 Championship visits (six) and wins (three), but those days have been few and far between in recent years. As a result, the game is one of the most popular in program history. Furthermore, a win would help the squad not only secure a berth in the College Football Playoff, but also gain the confidence needed to win it all. Oklahoma State, on the other hand, will be a difficult opponent.Texas' Quinn Ewers to miss time with injury: Longhorns' updated Big 12 Championship and CFP odds - al.com

While Texas has won three Big 12 Championships, Oklahoma State has never won the conference’s championship game. In fact, they’ve only made it to the Big 12 Championship once, in 2021, and lost. Mike Gundy’s team usually plays hard, and while they are considered underdogs, no one would bet against them. Oklahoma State consistently outperforms their opponents and can give anyone a run for their money.

Oklahoma State undoubtedly has the finest running back in the country. Because of his ridiculously astounding 1,852 yards and 21 touchdowns from scrimmage, Ollie Gordon is the frontrunner to win the Doak Walker Award. Walker is also aided by the strongest interior offensive line in the country.Oklahoma State’s strongest asset all season has been their rushing assault, while Texas has flourished most when it comes to stopping the run. Something will have to give in this game, and whichever way things break, the College Football Playoff will suffer greatly.
