Running back Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts suffered a thumb injury during his team’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, and he will miss at least one game as a result.According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Taylor is set to have surgery on Wednesday to treat a ligament issue. Taylor is expected to miss two to three weeks, but the injury is not expected to be season-ending.
According to Rapoport, the Colts have yet to decide whether to place Taylor on injured reserve. If they take that way, he won’t be able to play until at least Week 17.
Taylor ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns on 15 attempts against the Buccaneers. He looked like the dynamic back who led the NFL in rushing two years ago, which was encouraging for a 6-5 Colts club that is still in the hunt for a playoff spot.
With Taylor sidelined, Zack Moss will likely earn the majority of the Colts’ carries once again. Earlier in the season, the fifth-year athlete was quite efficient as Indy’s lead back, averaging 4.8 yards per carry.
“He thought the price was low and was willing to do almost anything that didn’t involve Maxx Crosby.” He and Josh agreed that No. 1 was too expensive, but Z wanted to go up to No. 2 and get Stroud. He had the opportunity to close the deal. He also understood Stroud would give McDaniels the opportunity to demonstrate both the fans and the owner that an identity would be formed. Josh was eager to move up for Bryce Young, but he went first, as expected, and Stroud to the Raiders was long dead.”
Throughout their debut seasons, Stroud appears to be the far superior quarterback. He has led the Texans to a 6-5 record with 19 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Meanwhile, Young has guided the Panthers to a 1-10 record, with nine touchdowns and eight interceptions.
