Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds in pre-season friendly action during Spain training camp

Head coach Steve Cooper has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Valencia in this evening’s pre-season friendly.

The Reds are in Spain on a week-long training camp as they continue their build-up to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign. They will play two matches while they are out there, starting with tonight’s game at their opponents’ training ground.

Hwang Ui-jo’s goal at the weekend saw Forest beat neighbours Notts County 1-0 in their first run-out of the summer. A mixture of first-team and young players featured at Meadow Lane, with Cooper naming two different outfield line-ups either side of the break.

At the Cuidad Deportiva de Paterna, the Reds boss names aNottingham Forest Possible Squad 2023-24 | NOTTINGHAM FOREST FC | PREMIER  LEAGUE - YouTube starting XI comprised mostly of senior stars. However, a number of youngsters feature on the bench.

The bench is made up of Aaron Bott, Cheikhou Kouyate, Alex Mighten, Josh Bowler, Brandon Aguilera, Mohamed Drager, Dale Taylor, Aaron Donnelly, Joe Gardner and Josh Powell.

As on Saturday, Cooper is expected to make a number of changes during the game as players build up fitness. Injury and unavailability mean a number of players are not involved.
