Charissa Thompson, Amazon Prime NFL anchor, has been under criticism in the last 24 hours for statements she made on the “Pardon My Take” podcast.
The former NFL sideline reporter casually mentioned that she had made up sideline reports in the past if a head coach was unavailable or did not give her with necessary information.
While her admission that she had previously made up sideline reports was not surprising, other female sideline reporters reacted to social media to protest what she said on the famous podcast.
While several journalists and female sideline reporters have criticized Thompson, Kelly Stafford has defended her.
“When a man makes a mistake or has his words misconstrued, his male colleagues/friends band together and support one another,” Stafford said on her Facebook page. “A woman does the same thing as their female colleagues/fake friends.” It appears that some ‘feminists’ simply choose to be feminists when it benefits their cause.”
