Three sets of brothers are likely to play on the same pitch in the Lions-Bears game.

WJBK (FOX 2) – Before the Bears-Lions game on Sunday even begins, it will be remembered as a historic footnote.

For the first time in decades, three pairs of siblings will be involved in the game, with the customary Okwara brothers on the Detroit sideline joined by two Lions teammates against their Bears brothers.

The Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown and offensive tackle Penei Sewell will square off against the Bears’ Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie linebacker Noah Sewell. Meanwhile, pass rushers and brothers Romeo and Julian Okwara will be active.

According to ESPN, there have been two games in NFL history that featured three separate sets of siblings. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, both occurred in 1979 during games between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals, which featured Matt and Chris Bahr, Jim and Ross Browner, and Archie and Ray Griffin.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, 24, leads the Lions in receiving yards with 827 and four touchdowns.
