The Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday that one of their experienced quarterbacks, who was placed on injured reserve earlier this season, will return to practice. This season, the Vikings have had multiple quarterback injuries.
Kirk Cousins had the most catastrophic injury, tearing his Achilles, and will be sidelined for the season. Jaren Hall suffered a concussion against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, allowing Joshua Dobbs to take over as the starting quarterback. Dobbs was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals while Nick Mullens was out with a back ailment.
Mullens has returned to practice and has been designated for return off injured reserve, according to a Vikings statement.
Mullens will be able to back up Dobbs. One would assume the Vikings will ride the rest of the season with Dobbs. Dobbs has engineered two wins for the Vikings since being traded from the Cardinals.
