The Boston Celtics and Kristaps Porzingis have had a fantastic start to the 2023–24 NBA season. After being traded from the Washington Wizards this past offseason, Porzingis has mostly appeared extremely comfortable in his new uniform. The Celtics are presently 8-2 and have won three straight games in front of home fans at TD Garden.

Josue Pavón of CLNS Media reports that Porzingis’s right knee injury will officially make him doubtful for the Celtics’ next game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, giving supporters cause for some concern. Neemias Queta, who is also marked as doubtful for the 76ers game due to a right foot issue, joins Porzingis on the injury report.

Due to a strange scheduling conflict, the Celtics will be visiting the 76ers on the road for the second game in as many weeks. With only a few seconds remaining in the game, a Kristaps Porzingis three-point shot shaved off the rim, giving Philadelphia the victory in the first meeting. After winning eight straight games, the 76ers are now 8-1 and have risen to the top of the Eastern Conference.

For the Celtics, things are going almost as smoothly in the meantime. Since the Porzingis trade was revealed, Boston fans have naturally been concerned about the Latvian big man’s lengthy history of injuries. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like his current knee problem is anything significant. The first game between the Celtics and Sixers is scheduled for November 15 at 7:00 PM ET in Philadelphia.
