If the Las Vegas Raiders are to return to the AFC postseason picture, they must continue to play at a high level defensively.

The Raiders would improve their position in the wild card battle if they won on Sunday. They are now ranked 13th, however several of the clubs ahead of them are only a half-game or one game better.

The Raiders will host the New York Jets at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday Night Football, a team that is only two positions ahead of them in the NFC West race.

While the Jets haven’t been a good offensive club this season, they do have a few young star playmakers.

Breece Hall, a running back, is one of those playmakers. Hall has enjoyed a resurgence season in his second year after injuring his ACL after only seven games last year. The Jets drafted Hall out of Iowa State in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draught, making him a key member of their youthful club. Before his knee injury, Hall was on pace to be an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate, with 80 carries for 463 yards and four touchdowns.

Hall is now fully recovered and has resumed his career where he left off. He has 94 carries for 493 yards and two touchdowns in eight games this season. He also has 23 receptions for 199 yards and a score.

When the Jets need an offensive spark, they turn to No. 20, who goes and makes a play. Hall possesses outstanding size and speed at 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, making him difficult to tackle in the open field.

Despite his injuries, Hall has not shied away from planting his foot on the ground and cutting back to shift opponents. He’s a tough cover when he gets rolling.

The Raiders have been playing solid defence in recent weeks, and while the Jets’ offence as a whole isn’t spectacular, Hall will be at the top of their list of players to stop. If the Raiders can stop Hall and the run game, the defence should have another strong game.

The Silver and Black will return to Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 8:20 p.m. ET/5:20 p.m. PT to face the New York Jets.
